Pinecrest Historical Village Tour

Get on the bus and come out to Pinecrest Historical Village for an interactive guided tour with your school, organization, or tour group!

Curriculum: Pinecrest Historical Village depicts a rural village such as existed around 1900. This 60 acre outdoor interpretive museum features more than 25 historical buildings, with period furnishings, from Manitowoc County. Each building includes exhibits depicting early Manitowoc County history. Through 90 minute "discovery tours," our costumed guides direct your students in exploring the home, community, economy, transportation, and education of 100 years ago. Tours can be adapted to fit individual social studies or history curriculum.

Gift Shop:Our gift shop features many educational books, games, & items of historical interest.

Group Tours: Tours are led by costumed guides and require approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours. One adult must accompany each 10-15 students. Since tours require walking and climbing steps proper footwear is recommended. Please dress appropriately for current weather conditions. Please schedule your tour at least 2 weeks in advance.

Lunch: Picnic tables for lunches or snacks are available. Please indicate if a picnic site is desired when reserving you tour. Aluminum cans must be separated for recycling before group departs. Each group is responsible for the disposal of group’s trash. We ask that you enforce no running on the property or rolling down the hill in front of the church.

Special Needs: Due to the nature of our historic buildings access for the physically challenged is limited. Tours require extensive walking, including gravel roads and hills, and climbing steps. Please let us know at the time of your reservation if your group has special requirements.

Tour Prices: The special school group rate is $3.00 for each student and chaperone. Teachers and Bus Drivers receive free admission. Fees are due the day of the tour.

Pinecrest Historical Village is a special project of the Manitowoc County historical Society, a nonprofit organization, founded in 1906, dedicated to the collection, interpretation and preservation of Manitowoc County History.
