LIFE AS A PIONEER SUMMER SCHOOL CLASS

               

Session 1    July 21st - July 25th, 2008
Session 2    July 28th - August 1st, 2008

Beginning in the Summer of 2007, The Manitowoc County Historical Society began a partnership with the Manitowoc Public School District to offer two week long summer camp sessions called "Life as a Pioneer".  Students are immersed in the life of Manitowoc County's early settlers and participate in activities such as: flint and steel fire starting, constructing a rope bed with period tools, blacksmithing demonstrations, ice cream making, fiber arts, candle making, one room schoolhouse experience and much more.
